Werewolves of New Idria Optioned for TV series

It's been some time since I've updated my blog. For the most part things have been quiet, except for my freelance reporting for BenitoLink.com.  Mostly, I've been covering local politics and writing some features. The most interesting story, though, has been about a murder in Hollister. I've been going to the preliminary hearings and not a whole lot has happened yet.

On the book-writing front, My horror-thriller, "Werewolves of New Idria," was optioned last year by a well known actor who feels the same way about the book's theme as I do and wants to try to get it produced. First, we were thinking it could be a theatrical film, but after he talked to a couple showrunners in Hollywood, they said the story was too big for just one film.

So, we are trying to get it picked up as a possible television series. On the advice of one showrunner, I wrote a treatment and script for a pilot, along with ideas for several following seasons, should it get picked up. Time will tell.

The actor/producer is working on a film at this time, but once he gets back home he will read the script and we will hash out any issues. He, and several others, already read the treatment and gave it a big thumbs up, so we're hopeful about the script.
